Funeral Transport to All 81 Provinces of Turkey and Abroad

From our base in Ankara, our refrigerated funeral vehicles carry the deceased to all 81 provinces of Turkey, and we arrange international repatriation with embalming, consular and customs paperwork. We handle the burial permit, death certificate and transport documents on behalf of the family.

Provinces We Serve in Turkey

We keep our own funeral vehicles in Ankara, Istanbul, Izmir, Antalya, Konya and Gaziantep. In these cities we collect the deceased directly from hospitals, homes or morgues and accompany the family to the burial site. Every other province is reached by transfer from our nearest vehicle, so we cover all 81 provinces of Turkey as well as international repatriation.

Municipal or private funeral service?

The Ankara Metropolitan Municipality provides collection, washing, shrouding and burial free of charge through its Alo 188 line. On application, it also transports the deceased to another city free of charge. Vehicle and timing follow the municipality's own schedule.

A private funeral service adds a vehicle at the time you choose, advance arrangements with the mosque and cemetery at the destination, international repatriation files, paperwork and one coordinator from start to finish. If the municipal service covers your needs, we will tell you so on the first call.

Funeral transport and burial process in Ankara

How the Process Works

What Happens After a Death, Step by Step

1. First call: We discuss where the death occurred, where the burial will take place and the family's wishes, and tell you which documents are needed.

2. Death certificate: For deaths in hospital, the hospital issues it. For deaths at home, a family doctor or municipal physician confirms the death. Forensic cases involve the prosecutor, and the body is released by the Forensic Medicine Institute.

3. Washing, shrouding and prayer: The deceased is washed and shrouded at the washing facility, and the funeral prayer is scheduled with the family.

4. Transport and burial: We follow the cemetery steps in Ankara, or deliver the deceased with the transfer documents to another city.

If a death abroad or in Turkey involves another country, see our repatriation guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently asked questions about funeral services in Ankara

How quickly can you collect the deceased from a hospital in Ankara?

Once the hospital has issued the burial permit, our vehicle sets out from our office in Sincan. Arrival time depends on distance and traffic; on the call we tell you when the vehicle leaves and when it should arrive. We work 24/7, including weekends and holidays.

What should we do first after a death at home?

A physician must first confirm the death. During office hours call the family doctor; outside office hours call the municipal physician via Alo 188, or 112. Once the physician has issued the burial permit, we can collect the deceased from the home.

How is a private funeral service different from the free municipal service?

The Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (Alo 188) provides collection, washing, shrouding and burial free of charge, and on application transports the deceased to another province free of charge. A private service helps when you want a vehicle at a set time, arrangements at the destination, international repatriation or one coordinator.

How long does funeral transport from Ankara to another city take?

By road, Ankara–Konya takes about 3 hours, Ankara–Istanbul 5–6 hours, Ankara–Izmir 6–7 hours and Ankara–Gaziantep 7–8 hours, plus time for documents, washing and waiting. Air transport is an option for distant provinces.

Can you repatriate someone who died in Turkey to the UK or Europe?

Yes. We prepare the Turkish side of the file (multilingual death certificate, embalming, zinc-lined coffin and transport document) and work with the family's funeral director at home on the flight and arrival.

Can you bring a relative from Germany or Europe to Turkey for burial?

Yes. The documents, zinc coffin and flight are usually arranged in the country of death by a funeral fund or funeral director. We collect the deceased at Istanbul or Ankara Esenboğa airport and take them to the burial place anywhere in Turkey.

When do we find out the price?

Before any work begins. The price depends on distance, route and additional services; we explain it item by item on the first call, and nothing is added afterwards.
